History and Mission

Our History

The work began in 1999 in Nepal with the establishment of a local non-governmental organization (NGO) called Reach the Unreached (RUN-Nepal). RUN-Nepal was formed to serve vulnerable communities through humanitarian aid and practical support.
In 2001, while attending BRSM in Florida, Sudip received a renewed vision for Asia. This led to the founding of the ministry now known as Compassion for Asia. RUN-Nepal continues to function as a local humanitarian NGO in Nepal, while Compassion for Asia serves as the broader ministry vision reaching across the region.
From small beginnings, the work has grown to include a Bible college, orphanages, an elderly home, leadership and pastors’ gatherings, humanitarian initiatives, and several churches. Today, the ministry is active in Nepal and India, with its main operational base in Nepal.

Our Mission

Our mission is to proclaim the Gospel, establish fellowships among unreached people groups, disciple believers, and raise future leaders. Through equipping, training, and teaching, we seek to strengthen local churches and develop sustainable leadership. Alongside spiritual ministry, we provide humanitarian aid, education initiatives, care for orphans, and support for older adults who have no family to care for them.
Many countries in Southeast Asia lie within the 10/40 Window and remain among the least reached with the Gospel. Large populations live in remote and rural areas where access to clean water, healthcare, and primary education is limited. We are committed to serving both physical and spiritual needs in these communities.

Looking a head

Nepal has experienced significant growth in the Christian community over the past decades. According to the World Christian Database, it is among the countries with the fastest-growing Christian populations in the world. Despite ongoing challenges, we believe the best days for Nepal and Southeast Asia are ahead.
We invite you to partner with Compassion for Asia in impacting Southeast Asia — in both word and deed — with the love of Jesus Christ.
