Leadership seminar in Dolakha

It was beautiful to have a pastors and leaders seminar in Dolakha. It was time for encouraging and empowering. It was a blessing to see brother Jagat also join us. One of our Bible School 2007 graduates, Jagat Thami, has started two churches in this area. When we began the work in this area in 2006, at that time, there were very few believers, but now there are several churches in this area. What an honor to work with these excellent leaders and continue to see His kingdom grow. This district also borders Tibet; Our primary focus is to reach out with the gospel to the Tibetan people group.

Six people take water baptism!

The Country is opening up more and more. Covid numbers are going down. Belivers are starting to meet physically  again with weekend fellowships, prayers meetings, and bible studies to maintain social distances. Last week, we had baptism services in two of our locations in Kathmandu . Six people took water baptism. Praise the Lord. Thank you for your prayers.

Schools starts again!

Another wonderful thing that has happened this month is that the schools in Nepal finally opened back up again after almost one year of lockdown. This is a sign that things are starting to get back to a “new normal”. The kids are back in their uniforms and can meet their friends at school. Our staff have done an amazing job during this pandemic.

One crises to the next !

This year’s monsoon rain finally is over; however, many people have been affected by the massive rain, flooding and landslide.  Pastor Dhan, who is situated right outside of Kathmandu, was one of them. Almost 20 families were flooded out of their homes in this area. All of their belonging was totally wet and with no insurance or savings to buy new things, they have been going through a very tough time. Church was also flooded and this month. we have been able to help some for the  church area and together with  families that were flooded in another area of Kathmandu.Thank God for the resources as He provided us to be able to help them.

School of Ministry classes continues!

Our online zoom classes for school of ministry are continuing. Thank you for your prayers. As the scripture says: the one neither who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.1 Corinthians 3:7. We are so grateful for what God is doing through your gifts and prayers.  Big thank you to Christoph for teachings us and contrbutions to schools of ministry and other ministres of Compassion for Asia. Thank you once again.

Second corona wave hits Nepal

Nepal is going through a second wave of Corona and an incomplete lockdown. Older children and staff at children’s homes in Kathmandu have tested positive. Many believers and pastors are in Quarantine and isolation. Each day around 9000 people are tested positive, and death tolls are recorded around 200. We have already lost a few of our ministry network friends.
Schools, religious worship places, and public gatherings are closed. Hospitals’ beds are packed, and the health minister said that they have given up. They have run out of oxygen and are not getting enough help, even when severely sick. The government has appealed for retired nurses and doctors to be back at work with the increased number of Corona patients. Grocery stores are open during the morning for two hours and are closed the rest of the day. All the rest of the stores are closed, and movement is greatly discouraged. Our children’s home in Kathmandu is affected by the Indian variant of Coronavirus. Many of our people are in quarantine and isolation.

New place of worship in Tarhara,

Pastor Bhim and his church believers talked and prayed together for this day to come for long time. When your congregation has a location for prayer and fellowship, it makes a vast difference in not having to carry instruments and other equipment week after week. The Church has been collecting offerings and contributions to get this place. Even though people make a very little a day they have given from their hearts and have done their best to accomplish this. Their dream has come true to see a permanent location for the church. We were able to help them with the extra cost they needed to put a tin roof and complete the building. Praise the Lord that they have a place now and we are so excited for this church growth!

Happy new year 2021!

Bye Bye disrupted unusual, year 2020! All our schedules were interrupted. It affected our everyday activities, work, and fellowships. In all these things, God will work for our good because you and I love God. What a experience !

Welcome to New Year 2021. As Paul said, forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. Philippians 3:12-14. Expect great things from God and attempt great things for God. Let us be ready to ride with God.

Celebrating the birth of Jesus-Christmas

As the year is about to end. We are so grateful  to our families and friends. 2020  has not been easy year for all of us regardless where we live.  In the midst of all this, You have supported us and we are so grateful to you for standing with us.  You  are in our thoughts and prayers.  Thank you once again.  Some of the churches were able to celebrate Christmas, where there has been less affected by Corona.  Church believers come together on 25 December. Church has especial church service, followed by a meal together, and celebrate the most important day in history, the birth of Jesus. We invite our non-believers’ neighbors and use this day to evangelize the reason for Christ’s birth. These pictures are from Mhepy Mahima church. Christmas is an especial time for each of us because of Jesus Christ’s birth for humankind’s salvation. His redeeming plan through His son Jesus. It is a joyful time for everyone.
