Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2018 !

Merry  Christmas  and Happy New Year 2018 to all our families and friends! Thank you so much for all your prayers and support to Compassion for Asia in 2017.
We hope that you will have good time with your families and friends in Christmas seasons. Remember that he loves you and you are the reason he came to this world. He cares you and has plan for you. Rejoice that savior is born and who is redeemer for this world.
Luke 2:10-11

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.

Matthew 1:18-25

This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about : His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.  Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.  But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.  She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”  All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).  When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.  But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

Thank you once again !

CFA School of Ministry Nepal !

I talked to one of our student at CFA School of Ministry called  Santosh Tomata who came from far west Nepal.   He told me that he was only believer in his family. His family were against his decision about following Christ and he mentioned me that he was going to start new church in his unreached village. Once I heard this I really felt encouraging him with vision that he has received and backing him up.  This was why we started to equip and train new people. Make that happen where each village have its own church. This is awesome way to raise church planters.

After the earthquake in 2015, we did not start a new semester because the children’s home was using facility where we ran our Bible College.  We used to run 3 years course. We finally got started short-term school again in fall 2017.  Our 24 students came from different parts of Nepal and closer from boarder of India and Tibet. Most of them were from different tribal groups who have their own languages, culture and traditions.    Our instructors were most local pastors and leaders during this whole fall training.

Urmila B.K. decided to join the Bible School because she wanted to serve God and know Him better. She was the only believer in her family like Santosh and this was a bold step for her. She has completed her training. Her plan was to be a church planter and she is on her way back to her Village.  Most of these students have a deep and genuine hunger to be equipped and know more from His word and know Him. Our students were first generation believers and did not have church background, since they normally came from Hindu or Buddhist backgrounds.

On 6 November, we rejoiced together at graduation to see them completing their training and go through graduation. It has been part of my heart. It always touches my heart when I see students from different languages; tribes and regions come to us. Enjoy seeing them grow and get discipled and   go through the training, and see them graduated. Looking forward to see how God is going to use them and excited about the new CFABC school year in January 2018.

Some of the students turned to be our native missionaries we go along with them for long time. We try to support them to start the work and help them whatever way we can.

Learning to wait on God

This morning God reminded me about waiting on Him and not being in hurry and being patience.  Here is great scripture .
Wait for the LORD; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD. (Psalm 27:14)
Learning to wait on God and being patience is challenging in these days. It is called instant age. Every thing is now , now and now .  For example people get instant coffee. Instant fast food. It takes less than 3 minutes for popcorn. Pulling money in ATM takes less than a minute. Everything is quick and life runs through remote control. Life seems slow if we have to wait for little bit. We get upset and angry.

We get disappointment if God does not show in our time frame. We want God to do what we want Him to do . We are asking him to sign our plan instead of waiting on him and be the King and master of our lives.
I was thinking that Jesus did not start his ministry until he was 30 years of age. (Luke 3:23) Moses was in his 80s before seeing burning bush experience (Acts 7:22-30) David was 30 years when he became king even though he was anointed with the oil in his 20s.( 2 Samuel 5:4) Paul spent 3 years in Arabia (Galatians 1: 15-18) after his encounter at Damascus (Acts 9: 1-4)
What a scripture to remember .
“who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).

Wait on Him !

Khadka August/September 2017

This has been a very challenging summer for the people of Nepal and the surrounding countries. Extreme flooding, mudslides and monsoon rain have taken more than 1000 lives and has left 10,000s of people homeless and without food or drinking water. The situation demands immediate responds and we are helping as much as we can.

Nepal has lost the majority of their crops for this year and is entering into a very challenging fall. The country might be on the brink of starvation. Your donation could save peoples lives and will be able to get them back on their feet.

Sindhuali fellowship!

Be praying for national missionaries who are located in Sindhuali  south Nepal. Both of them had been working with us for many years in Kathmandu before moving back to South Nepal. A few years back, God spoke to this pastor and His wife about starting a church in his village and they went to pioneer and plant a church in their area. The river Kanki runs through their village and now they have lost the bridge to connect with other villages. They also told me that a lot of people in their village have lost crops and animals such as goats and buffaloes, which is their primary source of livelihood. We are committed to helping them and their village as much as we can. What an awesome opportunity to share the love of God and the gospel.

Khadka June 2017

Read about the amazing praise report! How God made a divine connection and provided electricity after many months of people asking for bribes. It is always incredible to see when God grants His favor upon us. It was truly an answer to prayers.

Be praying for Bhim!

Be praying for Bhim from Sunsari !  I met him many years back in Kathmandu in a local bus. It was really crowded, but somehow, we started talking. He had told God that he would end his life if God did not speak to him or send someone to speak to him that day. It was such a divine appointment! Later he committed his life to serve God and went on to do church planting in his local area. He and his family are safe, but his village and the whole district has been flooded. 13 lives were lost in their neighborhood and their home was under water and has been damaged. The biggest river Saptakoshi runs through this area.
